Job description

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Servies Energy Doha for a:

 

NDT Technician

 

  • Examine materials, welds, and components for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete welds.
  • Perform NDT inspections using Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Visual Testing (VT) techniques.
  • Conduct inspections using eddy current, ultrasonic, and fluorescent dye penetrant methods in accordance with ASTM E-165 and other relevant standards.
  • Carry out incoming, in-process, and final inspections on components to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform detailed inspections on drill pipes, casing, and BHA components as per DS-1 Volume 4, API RP7G-2, and API RP 5A5 standards.
  • Conduct inspections on various lifting and handling equipment, including chains, slings, shackles, elevators, and tongs.
  • Use measurement tools such as micrometers, OD & ID gauges, and calipers with precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation in compliance with company standards and client specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to health and safety policies, especially within rig yard operations.
  • Collaborate with inspection teams and management to prioritize tasks and ensure timely project completion.

Profile

  • Certified NDT Technician to perform non-destructive testing and inspection on a wide range of industrial components and lifting equipment. The ideal candidate will have Level II certification in MT, PT, UT, and VT methods, and must be proficient in identifying defects such as cracks, porosity, incomplete welds, and other material irregularities. Experience in rig yards and a strong understanding of industry standards
    are essential.

Candidate criteria

Minimum level of experience required

6 years or more

Required authorisations

Level II Certification in MT, PT, UT, and VT (as per ASNT or equivalent standards).
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in NDT inspections in oil & gas, power, or
related sectors.
Familiarity with ASTM, API, and DS-1 standards for inspection.
