Job description

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy Doha, Qatar for a :

Maintenance Technician - Electrical & Instrument

Job Purpose:

  • To optimize the reliability and availability of equipment under area of responsibility through completing maintenance Activities in accordance with NOC approved operation procedures, guidelines, legislative
    requirements and industry best practice.
  • Identify opportunities and champion initiatives that enable maximum production and injection output within the parameters of environmental compliance and process safety.
  • Provide Team Lead with regular reports with analysis and comment on performance and results. Be held accountable for area of responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties, functional teams and corporate groups
    as required to meet NOC strategic business and operational objectives.
  • Contribute to improvements, development and implementation of department activities, processes and procedures.
  • Complete safe and efficient replacement and repair activities in the event of failure or malfunction ensuring quick restoration; troubleshoot malfunctions and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Optimize production and uptime when executing maintenance activities which require shut down / isolation or equipment.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and report repetitive equipment failures.
  • Prepare adequate documentation and reporting for offshore management consideration regarding wrong
    design, poor workmanship, non-compliance to NOC standards; take appropriate action within level of Authority.
  • Contribute to Identifying Improvements to planned maintenance routines.

 

Profile

Minimum higher secondary school education. Three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent) in electrical or instrumentation.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years offshore working on on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
  • Equal expertise in electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
    Previous experience as an Isolation Authority and Area Authority.
  • Offshore installation experience.
  • Wellhead experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety and instrumentation standards. Familiarity with isolation procedures and offshore safety protocols.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office
