The Managing Director is the SPIE GLOBAL SERVICES ENERGY representative in the country concerned.
He/she is responsible for managing all Spie GSE activities in the subsidiary.
He/she is responsible for the general coordination of the various activities entrusted to SPIE GSE at the sites concerned.
He/She is also responsible for the commercial development and profitability of the services offered.
He/She represents the company at meetings organised by clients, in connection with service contracts, projects and business services, as well as at construction site meetings when they are essential.
Mission 1: Business development
Coordinates commercial and contractual relations with clients.
He/she draws up and monitors the implementation of the company's operational strategy.
Examines tender and consultation documents and decides what action to take.
Checks bids/contracts and decides on actions to be taken within the scope of the powers allocated to him.
Checks clients orders and decides what action to take.
He/she checks that the department manager has ensured that :
Risks have been identified and preventive measures taken
Objectives have been defined
Resources are available
Rules and means of control have been defined
Mission 2: Administration and Finance
Ensures the necessary interface and compliance with the administrative, financial, legal and social authorities of the country and the region.
Is responsible for the positive integration of the company into the local industrial context, as well as for the behaviour, in this respect, of its expatriate employees in particular.
Is responsible for the company's finances: rigorous bookkeeping, monitoring of budget implementation, optimisation of results, achievement of targets, quality and accuracy of financial reports requested by Head Office, and compliance with the corresponding deadlines.
Based on market needs and customer feedback, the Managing Director validates the budget proposed by the department heads.
Validates investment requirements in accordance with the powers granted to him/her.
Mission 3: HR
Together with his/her team managers, he/she defines human resources requirements.
He/she relies on the local or head office HR teams to identify profiles that meet the subsidiary's needs and validates the candidates selected when they are direct reports.
He/she defines and implements the actions to be taken to develop the necessary skills, particularly for new arrivals.
He/she takes part in the various annual HR exercises: training plan, CEDRE, annual interview, and ensures that they run smoothly.
Mission 4: Purchasing
Issues purchase orders and requisitions within the limits of the expenditure commitment powers granted to him/her.
Degree preferably engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of the oil & gas sector
Fluency in English (spoken, read and written)
Knowledge of Africa desirable
Proven experience in one of the subsidiary's business lines
1st expatriation experience is desirable
