Job description

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy, Qatar for a :                         QA/QC Inspector – (E/I)

 

Job Purpose

To provide advanced technical oversight of site inspection activities, ensure the competency and performance of Contractors’ QA/QC Inspectors, and verify that all E/I inspections are carried out in accordance with COMPANY standards, project specifications, and international codes. This role serves as the field-level focal point for inspection supervision and reporting functionally to the QA/QC Engineer.

 

Key Job Accountabilities

 

1.Confirm effective implementation of the QELNG quality management system and  project quality plan
2. Fully conversant with QELNG discipline specific, facility related technical specification requirements.
3. Review contractors’ quality deliverables in accordance with the requirements and expectations of QELNG and provide clear, concise output to the contractor’s quality focal point.
4. Engage contractors and applicable third-party organisations with a professional approach and maintain a good working level relationship.
5. Ensure that contractor processes and procedures are properly and effectively implemented.
6. Perform material/ equipment site receipt inspection with additional visual and dimensional examination (where practical) to confirm suitability and fit for purpose.
7. Conduct site installation, testing, calibration inspections to confirm product and process quality in line with established quality and technical documents.
8.Ensure that the latest revision of project quality documentation is available, and that records of product and process conformance are maintained in accordance with the document and record control requirements.
9. Prepare a daily report summarising the salient inspection points and quality concerns and coordinate directly with the assigned quality focal point regarding any significant issues identified.
10. Manage and participate in site quality verification activities (i.e. Quality Walkabout, Surveillance and Audit) and document the outcomes using the applicable inspection report template.
11. Record and facilitate the follow-up and close-out of identified non-conformances.
12. Act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of QELNG project management team to ensure that quality requirements and expectations are fully satisfied.
13. Familiar with Industrial Control Systems software and processes
14. Familiar with Electrical systems such as LV and MV equipment, motors, transformers, switchgears, PDBs, CTs, Relays, UPS, battery bank, lighting fixtures, receptacles and small power panels
15. Familiar with Instrumentation and Control systems such as DCS, ESD, PLCs and Cabinet integration instruments and transmitters like pressure, Diff pressure, level, flow, RTD & thermocouples with thermowells, gauges, analysers and instrument tubing etc.

Profile

Electrical Engineering Diploma, or suitable equivalent plus Trade Certificates in Electrical and/ or Instrumentation

Familiar with electrical and instrumentation specific codes and standards (e.g. IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/ IECEX-60079. etc.).

Familiar with quality assurance principles and practices.

Trade Certificates in Electrical and/ or Instrumentation, preferred.

Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in the oil & gas industry, with proven expertise in both greenfield and brownfield project environments.

Extensive experience managing inspections during shutdown projects, preferably within LNG facilities, under live operating conditions and constrained execution windows

Demonstrated capability in conducting inspections, and contractor oversight across procurement, fabrication, and construction phases

Familiar with electrical and instrumentation specific codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/ IECEX- 60079. etc.).

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office
